The Old Armoury was once used by The Black Watch Regiment and local lore has it that the site dates back to 1745 at a time of the Jacobite unrest.

The Black Watch Regiment is Scotland's oldest since it first paraded on the banks of the River Tay in Aberfeldy in 1740 and has served with distinction from Aberfeldy to Kimberly during the Boer War and many more places too plentiful to name.

The Old Armoury in Pitlochry was converted to a private house and over the years has evolved to what it is today.

Set in the patio to the front of the restaurant we have a wishing well guarded by our Elf Jimmy. All donations are given to Rachael House , Kinross which is a Childrens Hospice.

Jimmy's Poem

I'm the Armoury's wishing elf
I need a wee bit of your wealth picture of jimmy and well
Into my mouth all your pennies go
Hear them splash in my well below
A promise now I'll give to you
Your wishes and dreams
Will all come
True!
